Addiction can affect your health, relationships, work and overall wellbeing, but you do not have to face it alone.

I provide confidential and non-judgmental addiction counselling in Wellington for people experiencing challenges with alcohol, substance use, gambling and other compulsive behaviours. Online addiction counselling is also available for clients throughout New Zealand.

You do not need to have stopped using or have everything figured out before beginning counselling. We can start wherever you are and work at a pace that feels manageable.

Together, we can explore the experiences and triggers behind your behaviour, develop practical coping strategies and create realistic steps towards healthier and more sustainable change.

I support both substance-related and behavioural addictions, including alcohol, drugs, and habits such as gambling or other compulsive behaviours.

No. You can begin counselling wherever you are in your journey. We will work together at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Yes, all sessions are confidential, except in rare situations where there is a risk of harm, in line with professional guidelines.

Counselling helps you understand the underlying causes of your behaviour, develop coping strategies, and build the skills needed to support long-term change.

This depends on your individual goals and needs. Some people benefit from short-term support, while others prefer ongoing sessions.

Relapse can be part of the recovery process. Counselling provides a supportive space to understand what happened and help you move forward without judgment.

Counselling Options

Introductory Conversation

If it’s your preference you are welcome to have an introductory conversation by phone or in person for up to 30 minutes. The purpose of this would be to see if you feel we are a good fit, and for me to answer any of your questions.

Cost

Sessions are for 60 minutes and cost $130.

Sessions are invoiced at the end of each session. You can pay by cash or internet banking. If paying by cash, please bring the exact amount as I don’t carry change.

You may choose to have counselling short or long term. You are welcome to pause if you prefer and start again whenever you wish.

Cancellations

If something comes up for you and you need to change or cancel, please give at least 24 hours’ notice wherever possible. If something comes up for you on the day unexpectedly, please let me know as soon as you can.  Missed appointments without 24 hours notice will usually incur a fee of the cost of the session for self-funded clients. If this situation becomes relevant, we will talk it through together.
